👋 Meet the Team – Julia

Behind every successful project is someone keeping everything running smoothly, and that’s exactly what Julia does!

✨ Office Manager
📅 With Cotswold Hill for: Over 13 years

Julia is often the first friendly face our customers meet and loves helping people, solving problems and making sure everything behind the scenes runs like clockwork.

When asked about her favourite projects, she couldn’t choose just one! While she’s been involved in some incredible large-scale work, it’s often the smaller bespoke projects, like creating personalised stone name plaques, that she enjoys the most. From helping with the design process to managing accounts, payroll and purchasing, no two days are ever the same.

☕ Fuel of choice? Coffee in the morning, tea after lunch and the occasional McVitie’s Digestive.

🌿 Day off? You’ll usually find Julia tending to her garden, growing flowers and vegetables, or enjoying Kundalini yoga.

🪨 Dream skill? Stone carving. Watching our talented masons at work inspires her every day.

🚜 Favourite tool? Sage Accounts… although she admits she’d happily spend more time driving one of our forklifts if she got the chance!

🎉 Fun fact: Julia was christened by The Reverend Wilbert Awdry, creator of Thomas the Tank Engine.

Cotswold Hill Quarry is supplying over 90m² of premium sawn and split stone cladding, along with 27 metres of bespoke ‘L’-shaped corner and window cladding, ensuring every detail blends seamlessly.

With the existing property featuring a mix of render, brick and blockwork, the goal is to create one elegant, unified finish. Natural Cotswold stone will completely redefine the exterior, adding warmth, character and timeless appeal while giving the home a beautifully cohesive appearance.

Finished and ready to take pride of place, this bespoke name stone is far more than just a sign – it tells a unique family story.

The name is spelt differently from Dunstaffnage Castle, and the reason behind it is a lovely one. An innocent misspelling when registering the family’s breed of ponies became established over time, and changing it simply became too difficult. Today, that spelling has become part of the family’s history, making this stone all the more meaningful. 🐴

It’s these personal stories that make our work so rewarding. Every bespoke piece we create is handcrafted with care, reflecting not only exceptional craftsmanship but also the heritage behind each commission.

This beautiful name stone was created for Centaur Biomechanics, based near Moreton Morrell, Warwickshire.

A recently completed two-light natural stone windows for a property in the beautiful village of Lower Slaughter.

The client chose Cotswold Hill Quarry for our quick turnaround and skilled masonry craftsmanship, helping keep the project on schedule while maintaining exceptional quality.

An interesting feature of this project was that we also produced the internal side of the window opening, including the stone cill. This level of stonework through the full depth of the wall is less common and demonstrates the versatility of our masonry team and the attention to detail that goes into every project.
